6.1 Widgets

There are several types of widgets to embed in other websites, allowing for easy promotion of your topic page. These include simple buttons and icons as well as embeddable widgets in various configurations. Toggle between the "Button Widget", "PlaceSpeak Widget", "Poll Widget" at the top to select the appropriate one(s) for your project. 

Click ‘Get widget code’ and paste it into your website’s editor. You may require your site’s webmaster to do this.

Button Widget

Include these buttons on your site to direct visitors to your consultation topic.

PlaceSpeak Widget

The PlaceSpeak widget allows you to embed a specific consultation topic into external websites, such as a project webpage on your own website.

With PlaceSpeak widgets you can change the title, adjust the width and select the features you want to appear on the widget. Once the widget code has been embedded, the statistics will update automatically.

Poll Widget

The PlaceSpeak poll widget has been designed to embed into third-party websites, such as media sites, where the objective is for people to take the poll without leaving the host website. Participants can sign in or new users can sign up and take the poll within the widget.

Once participants have taken the poll, the results display immediately both in bar charts with percentages and spatially distributed on the map, colour-coded to correspond with their response.
