PlaceSpeak allows you to notify users based on their Notification Settings so that participants can stay up to date. This helps keep participants active and engaged throughout the consultation process. Users can choose between receiving emails or viewing on the Activity Feed. You can choose to share updates to either or both. We recommend checking both radio buttons when you are ready to notify followers so you reach the broadest audience of followers.

Examples of updates include the status of the consultation, upcoming deadlines to participate, reminders of public events, poll/survey results, outcomes, and more.

Update Title: Enter a short, descriptive title that will appear as the subject line of emails going out to participants.

Update Body: Use the WYSIWYG editor to customize the update you wish to share with participants. You can add text formatting, colours, bullet points, alignment and more.

Notify Options: There are now three options to notify users of updates:

1) Notify all followers via email

2) Post on Timeline (coming soon) - PlaceSpeak’s new design allows for the set up of a Timeline to keep people informed of the process of the engagement you can choose to include a Timeline Message which will be added to the Timeline on the Overview page.

3) Notify all followers via Feed

Published Updates

You can edit or delete your update after it has been posted, though any emails which go out to participants will still have the original text.

Shortly, you will also be able to add updates directly on the upcoming Timeline Feature.
