PlaceSpeak allows you to notify users based on their Notification Settings so that participants can stay up to date. This helps keep participants active and engaged throughout the consultation process. Users can choose between receiving emails or viewing on the PlaceSpeak Dashboard. You can choose to share updates to either or both. We recommend checking both radio buttons when you are ready to notify followers so you reach the broadest audience of followers.

Examples of updates include the status of the consultation, upcoming deadlines to participate, reminders of public events, poll/survey results, outcomes, and more. If you are engaging in both French and English it is important to format the Update to include both languages in a single update.  PlaceSpeak will update based on the user language preference settings.

Remember to remove any legacy formatting by using the Tx tool in the tool bar and reformat using the formatting tools in the tool bar. This is important to ensure your outgoing updates are formatted correctly.

Update Title: Enter a short, descriptive title that will appear as the subject line of emails going out to participants.

Update Body: Use the WYSIWYG editor to customize the update you wish to share with participants. You can add text formatting, colours, bullet points, alignment and more.

Notify Options: There are now two options to notify users of updates:

1) Notify all followers via email

2) Notify all followers via PlaceSpeak, com Dashboard

Published Updates

You can edit or delete your Dashboard update after it has been posted, though any emails which go out to participants will still have the original text.
